Set in a highly evolved steampunk world, “Black or White Coffee” explores the complexities of identity. It seeks to normalize and celebrate the freedom to be one’s true self. This play resonates with anyone struggling to embrace their authentic identity, whether due to gender, sexuality, career, or other societal pressures. It amplifies the voices of those who continuously battle against imposed norms, offering a powerful message of self-acceptance and liberation. Told as a dark comedy and laced with Greek mythology, the story follows a group of individuals fighting to escape the prison they find themselves in. Broken Gods Productions is also teaming up with Ovacome to raise money for their cause. Ovacome is the national UK ovarian cancer charity focused on providing support and information to anyone affected by ovarian cancer. This includes people who have either been diagnosed with the disease or think that they might be at risk, as well as their friends and family and healthcare professionals.
