The McLean Community Players will present Paul Slade Smith’s Unnecessary Farce, opening April 29, 2016, and running weekends through May 14, in the Alden Theatre at the McLean Community Center. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees on May 1 and 8 at 2:00 p.m. Unnecessary Farce is an award-winning stage comedy that combines all the elements of classic farce with a contemporary American plot: the police procedural. In an economy motel room, a mayor suspected of embezzling is supposed to meet with his female accountant. In the room next door, two undercover cops are supposed to catch the meeting on videotape. With two cops, three crooks, and eight doors, chaos ensues. The confusion surrounds who's in which room, who's watching the video, who's taken the money, and who's hired a hit man. Tickets are $18-$20 and are available at www.McLean Players.org or 866-811-4111. See the Accessibility page on MCP’s website for information about audio description services and American Sign Language interpretation at some performances.
Ages: This show contains adult language and situations and is suitable for ages 15 and older.
