The Island Shakespeare Festival presents a summer season featuring classical outdoor theater on Whidbey Island, running from July 29 to September 8. Among the performances are Shakespeare's King Lear, directed by Terri McMahon, highlighting themes of power and betrayal, and Aphra Behn’s The Lucky Chance. Jonathan Cullen stars as King Lear, supported by Peter Hadres as Gloucester, delivering a profound exploration of human nature and redemption amidst tragedy. Audiences can enjoy the enchanting forest stage setting while experiencing powerful storytelling and the beauty of summer evenings.
