I decided to gift myself something special for my 40th year on Earth: I gave myself the chance to be happy. I gave myself the opportunity to get rid of the weight on my back. I gave myself the gift of being silent in a babel of voices, where everyone seems to mingle in the tragic solitude of their own language, to finally feel less lonely. Distance gave me a different perspective on the “bidimentional pain” that entangled my entire existence.
“Have you ever felt like you weren’t in sync with the events of your life? Like if you were always a little too early or just a little too late to your present? Unable to decide, to play. Like in the worst nightmare, you’re in danger and you feel scared. You try to scream and the voice doesn’t come out from your mouth. No one can hear you. "
This is my story, made of violence and compassion, of love and resentment, lace and ropes, stuck in the folds of a past that never stops being present.
Until I eventually found out that forgiveness is the only way to the future.
