As two African American men, each with their own beliefs—one Jewish and the other a non-believer—await their fates in a jail cell, the clash of their worldviews leads to both comedic and dramatic moments. The story beautifully captures the complexities of navigating the prison system while highlighting the humorous and touching interactions that arise between the characters. The play features Hassiem Muhammad, who recently won the Helen Hayes Award for playing Caliban in The Tempest at the Round House Theatre in Bethesda, MD.
