WHAT?: Auditions for "Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett. Directed by Davina McFadyen and Jonah Hagans.
"Waiting for Godot", an absurdist play by Samuel Beckett, has led to many different interpretations since the play's premiere. Voted "the most significant English language play of the 20th century", it follows a pair of men who divert themselves while waiting expectantly, vainly for someone named Godot to arrive. They claim he's an acquaintance but in fact hardly know him, admitting that they would not recognize him when they do see him. To occupy the time they eat, sleep, converse, argue, sing, play games, exercise, swap hats, and contemplate suicide – anything "to hold the terrible silence at bay".
Auditionees will be given a section of the script to read from. No preparation is necessary! If you need to warm up, please do so before the session starts.
If you would like to read the script beforehand, most libraries and bookstores that stock English drama will have copies.

One more round of auditions TOMORROW (December 2nd), 7-10pm.
Callbacks are scheduled for the evening of Thursday, December 6th, also at Our Space in Hatagaya.
