Brief Synopsis:
Horace Pennypacker, Jr. is a very progressive though quiet thinker and
the easy-going father of a large family in Wilmington in the late
1800s. He also spends half of his time at his branch office in
Philadelphia...with his second family, never dreaming the twain should
meet. But they do. The minister, whose son is to marry Pennypacker’s
daughter, is speechless. His wife hysterically refuses to believe it.
His children are merely curious about his other children. Can a
solution to his two-family system be reached? With all the talk today
about what constitutes a family, this rollicking social comedy is even
more relevant now than when it was first presented in the early 1950s.
“An uproarious show.” - NY Times.
