SCERA's Theatre for Young Audiences announces December 17 auditions for Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat
Auditions for SCERA's Theatre for Young Audiences production of Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat will be held Tuesday, December 17 from 7-9pm in Room B1 at the SCERA Center for the Arts. The show is not a musical - it is a play with most of the storytelling done through movement, dance, acting and characterization, although there are scripted lines for most characters. Roles available include Cat in the Hat, Boy, Sally, Fish and Thing 1 and Thing 2. Auditioners ages 17 and older should prepare a short comedic monologue.
Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat will play February 17 - March 7, 2014 at the SCERA Center for the Arts. The short one-hour play will be performed at 10am on weekdays for school field trips with evening public shows on Monday and Friday nights @ 7:00pm. Performers must be available for 10am-12Noon rehearsals beginning January 7, 2014 and all morning and evening performances. The play is directed by Julie Nevin, with choreography by Shawn Mortensen.
