ProArts Auditions for a The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on September 25
ProArts is happy to announce open auditions for their December show, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” at the ProArts Playhouse in Kihei. This musical comedy, a Maui premiere, has music and lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin, and was conceived by Rebecca Feldman. ProArts’ manager Jonathan Lehman will direct, with musical direction by Kim Vetterli.
Auditions are scheduled for Wednesday, September 25 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the ProArts Playhouse at Azeka Shopping Center (Makai), 1280 S. Kihei Rd. in Kihei. There are nine roles available. Auditions are for singer/actors ages 16 and up and are by appointment only. Auditionees should bring their current résumé and headshot and prepare a 2 minute vocal selection, preferably an up-tempo tune from a Broadway show that shows off their range. Sheet music should be provided for the accompanist. Readings will be available at audition time. A stipend is paid to all participants.
