SYNOPSIS: The popular Australian comedy with a bittersweet twist about friendship, fidelity and shoe fabrics. Meg Bacon is getting married in the morning to the man of her dreams, James, and has booked a hotel suite for herself and her bridal party the night before. But bridesmaid Lucy comes bearing a terrible secret: she’s discovered that James might be having an affair. She wants to tell Meg right now but matron of honour Angela is more cautious. After all, Lucy doesn’t have all the facts yet and does she want to risk ruining Meg’s big day over a misunderstanding? As the night progresses and the empty champagne bottles pile up, Lucy and Angela try to figure out what’s going on, whilst Meg is distracted by last-minute arrangements and her bossy mother Colleen. Act One is the night before the big day, Act Two is the morning of. Would you tell the bride?

ROLES AVAILABLE:

MEG BACON: Mid 30s. The bride. Smart, funny, sweet, a little bit insecure. The sort of person who cracks jokes at their own expense as a defence mechanism. Character appears briefly in lingerie.

LUCY DEAN: Late 20s to mid 30s. A bridesmaid. Confident, honest and outspoken. Fiercely loyal to best mate Meg and very conflicted. Character appears throughout Act One and at the end of Act Two.

ANGELA DIXON: Mid to late 30s. The matron of honour. Calm and capable but can crumble under pressure. A little paranoid that Meg’s single friends see her as “the boring married suburban one”.

COLLEEN BACON: 50s-60s. The mother of the bride. Deeply invested in this being the most perfect wedding in the history of weddings. Unfortunately she is also bossy, controlling and easily frazzled.

NAOMI BARTLETT: Mid to late 20s. A last minute replacement bridesmaid. Sexy and she knows it, but it hides a very real vulnerability. Character appears briefly in lingerie. Act Two only.

JAMES DAVIS: Mid to late 30s. The groom. Handsome, charming, successful – and all too human. Genuinely remorseful and conflicted but unable to articulate it properly. Act Two only.
