PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION:
Casting Mighty Real: A Fabulous Sylvester Musical. Synopsis: Mighty Real uses Sylvester’s music to celebrate the life of the “Queen of Disco.” Through his trials and tribulations and his glitzy, glamorous lifestyle, he was a symbol for fabulousness and a pioneer in the LGBTQ community. His many disco classics include You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real), Dance (Disco Heat), Do Ya Wanna Funk and Can't Stop Dancing.”

Seeking:
Equity & Non-Equity Singers, Male and Female for MIGHTY REAL: A FABULOUS SYLVESTER MUSICAL
Breakdown:
SYLVESTER: Male 20’s 30’s. African-American. Tenor with Major Sustained High-Pop Falsetto. VERY Comfortable in High Heels and Make-Up. This actor carries the show and will be required to know how to control a crowd while acting, conducting and commanding the stage. The character is a Strong and Confident individual who can be vulnerable when brought to that place. MUST Sing with and from Gospel Rooted Soul (i.e., COGIC CHURCH). MUST HAVE A MUSICAL EAR TO SING CLOSE HARMONIES. MUST BE ABLE TO MOVE. **Note: Looking for more of a Soulful Singer, Not looking for Legit Singing.**
IZORA: Female 20’s to 30’s. African-American. VERY STRONG Alto/Tenor. Robust and/or Full-Figured is a Plus. This actor should be the fun, excited and jovial one of the Two Tons ‘O Fun who lives in the moment and just loves being on stage. Must Sing with and from Gospel Rooted Soul (i.e., COGIC CHURCH) MUST HAVE A STRONG MUSICAL EAR TO SING CLOSE HARMONIES. MUST BE ABLE TO MOVE. **Note: Looking for more of a Soulful Singer, Not looking for Legit Singing.**
MARTHA: Female 20’s to 30’s. African-American. VERY STRONG High Soprano/Alto. Robust and/or Full-Figured is a Plus. This actor should be the smooth, sensual and sassy one of the Two Tons ‘O Fun who enjoys singing her heart out, but is confident in speaking her mind. Must Sing with and from Gospel Rooted Soul (i.e., COGIC CHURCH) MUST HAVE A STRONG MUSICAL EAR TO SING CLOSE HARMONIES. MUST BE ABLE TO MOVE. **Note: Looking for more of a Soulful Singer, Not looking for Legit Singing.**
SYLVESTER SINGER: Male 20’s to 30’s. African-American. Tenor/Baritone. VERY Comfortable in High, Pop Falsetto. Handsome. This actor should have Versatility vocally in a 70’s Soul Style and a Flair that can blend with a group as well as shine individually. This actor should be able to sing in the Style of Sylvester. MUST HAVE A STRONG MUSICAL EAR TO SING CLOSE HARMONIES. MUST BE ABLE TO MOVE.

SYLVESTER SINGER: Woman, 20’s to 30’s. African-American. Very STRONG Sorpano/Alto. Attractive. This actor should have Versatility vocally in a 70’s Soul Style and a Flair that can blend with a group as well as shine individually. This actor should be able to sing in the Style of The Weather Girls. MUST HAVE A STRONG MUSICAL EAR TO SING CLOSE HARMONIES. MUST BE ABLE TO MOVE. **Note: Looking for more of a Soulful Singer, Not looking for Legit Singing.**
(This actor will Understudy the Principal Lead “MARTHA / IZORA”.)
