In The Heights - L.A. If the talent lives further then 50 miles of Los Angeles or being flown to Los Angeles those rates change, in addition to playing lead or chorus. Anywhere from $80-150 per show. $154 per week per diem if brought out. $2400 for rehearsals.

Location: Los Angeles IOA Theatricals will present IN THE HEIGHTS as its inaugural production as the professional West Coast regional premier. The story: IN THE HEIGHTS is a musical, with music and lyrics by Lin Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, that tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind.

IN THE HEIGHTS is the winner of the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations. IOA Theatricals will feature the full Broadway orchestrations accompanied by a lavish 13 piece orchestra; A first since the Broadway show, The gorgeous national touring set designed by Tony nomine Anna Louizos & original costumes by Paul Tazewell. We’re also delighted to welcome direct from the national touring production of IN THE HEIGHTS, Perry Young. Perry is absolutely thrilled to be reprising his dream role in IN THE HEIGHTS – LOS ANGELES! Accompanying Perry are some original cast members of the national touring and Broadway productions to grace the stage once again and reprise their roles. The award winning production team is made up of Director, James Saucedo, Choreographer/Asso. Director Chris Dupre, and Asso. Choreographer Dominque Kelley. IOA Theatricals is a new groundbreaking production company under the direction of James Saucedo. [ABUELA CLAUDIA] 25-mid 40's to portray 60 yr old, she raised Usnavi after his parents passed away and continues to live with him. She emigrated from Cuba when she was very young. Of all the characters, Abuela Claudia has been in “the Heights” the longest. She struggled to learn English, struggled to find work and in turn has helped others who have followed in her path. She is clearly the matriarch of the neighborhood. Strong vocals. Audition song: Paciencia y Fe

[DANIELA] Age: 25-40 open to any ethnicity but Latin preferred, the outrageous owner of the salon where the neighborhood girls gossip; tough on the surface, compassionate underneath; good belt; good dance. Audition song: Carnaval Del Bario

[GRAFFITI PETE] 25-35, any ethnicity; graffiti artist and friend of Sonny; perceived by Usnavi as a trouble-making vandal, but is really a good-hearted artist; sings; very strong dancer; acrobatics a plus

[ENSEMBLE] residents of Washington Heights, Men and women. Auditions and casting are open to actors from all ethnic groups. Latin performers are particularly encouraged to submit.
