Broadway Theatre Project to hold NYC auditions Jan 26th, hosted by a panel of accomplished Broadway professionals

New York City auditions for Broadway Theatre Project’s 2013 Summer Musical Theatre Intensive will be held on Saturday, January 26th 2013 - 10AM at Simple Studios – 134 West 29th Street.

The audition will be hosted by a panel of accomplished Broadway professionals, including:

Mana Allen, American actress, singer, teacher, writer and dramaturge best known for her role, Girl Auditioning, in
the original Broadway cast of Stephen Sondheim / George Furth’s, “Merrily We Roll Along” and as Patti-Lynn Bird in Broadway’s “Smile”, who has served on the faculty of the renowned CAP21 Musical Theatre Conservatory in New York City since 1995.

Erik Liberman, best known for his Broadway debut in “Lovemusik”, has garnished several awards in his career including the Connecticut Critics Circle Award as well as the Helen Hayes Award for his performance as Charlie in the Regional production of “Merrily We Roll Along”. Erik’s extensive training includes studying with legends such as Austin Pendleton and Tonya Pinkins who will both also appear as guest artists at the 2013 Broadway Theatre Project summer musical theatre intensive.

Emilee Dupré, most recently starred, as Joan Barry in Broadway’s “Chaplin” will be adjudicating the young hopefuls after leading the dance segment of the audition. Other Broadway credits include “The People in the Picture” (Roundabout), Off-Broadway: The “Blue Flower” (Second Stage), “Girl Crazy”, and “On the Town” (NY City Center).

The NYC audition will be coordinated by Cristina Torres, performer, producer and Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Broadway Theatre Project. Off Broadway: lead role in an original production, “In the Wildnerness”, (Bleecker St Theatre), & Octavia in BAM Media’s production of “Antony and Cleopatra” (ATA).

The mission of this intensive three week training program is to further develop the key disciplines of musical theatre, including acting, voice, and dance and the many facets of each, as well as the critical life skills necessary to prepare students to work in the world of professional theatre.
