Jason C. Tramm to hold Open Auditions for Choristers for the October 17th performance of “A Prayer for Peace Concert” at Carnegie Hall
Noted conductor Jason C. Tramm will hold open auditions for choristers to sing in A Prayer for Peace Concert” to take place at Carnegie Hall on Saturday, October 17 at 8PM.
Open auditions will take place on Saturday, August 8 from 11AM to 2PM at the Youth Temple Ocean Grove, 22 Pilgrim Pathway, Ocean Grove, New Jersey and on Thursday, August 13th at Seton Hall University from 3pm – 6PM at the Corrigan Hall Chorus Room on the Seton Hall University Campus, 400 South Orange Avenue, South Orange, New Jersey.
A Prayer for Peace will celebrate the music of peace from three faiths as interpreted by Leonard Bernstein, Ahmed Adnan Saygun, and Ralph Vaughan Williams, composers whose nationality, background and circumstances differ, yet whose compositions share and celebrate a common vision of peace and hope.
All voices are encouraged to audition.
Prospective choristers will audition with concert conductor Jason C. Tramm , who serves as Assistant Professor and Director of Choral Activities, College of Communication and the Arts, Seton Hall University; and is principal conductor and Artistic Director of the MidAtlantic Opera. Candidates must schedule an audition.
Auditions will consist of a vocal range test and candidates will be asked to sing the following short selections from Bernstein's Chichester Psalms: Movement 1: Bars 66-85 (Boosey & Hawkes ed pg. 11-13); Movement 3: Bars 60-65 (Boosey & Hawkes ed pg. 40-41) To access audition music, follow link for the Chichester passages:

Candidates must be able to commit to the rehearsal schedule for “A Prayer for Peace” concert. Rehearsals will take place Wednesdays at 7:30PM at Seton Hall University on the following dates:September 9, 16, 23, and 30 and October 7; with Piano Dress on October 14 and Full Dress on October 15, with performance in NYC on October 17.
