LEGOLAND California is casting for the 2014 summer season. We are looking for dynamic and highly energetic people to portray fun characters all summer long! If you want to get paid for your talents, then this is the place for you!
NOW CASTING FOR:
LEGO Friends LIVE: A musical review style interactive street show featuring the characters from the popular LEGO Friends line. The LEGO Friends have travelled from Heartlake City to meet the guests of LEGOLAND California! Featuring popular music and hip dance moves! Casting Kids (Females) Ages 11 – 16 (to play 13).
Castle Show (Working Title): A medieval comedy featuring fast paced action, cartoon style characters and audience volunteers. Casting Male and Female actors/actresses ages 16 and up.
Character Dance Party: Two of our lovable costume characters are joined by our troupe of singers and dancers to pump up the crowd. Casting Male and Female singers and dancers ages 16 & up. Singers: Females: Mezzo Soprano with a belt and a Pop sound. Males: Tenors with a Pop sound. Dancers should have experience with Hip – Hop and Jazz.
Guest Experience Host: The Guest Experience Hosts are performers with a focus on guest service. Guests tour LEGOLAND’s own “Studio L”, where they get to be on the actual set used to film The LEGO Movie. Hosts act as crew members of a live sound stage, providing fun facts about the film, scavenger hunt style games and more. Hosts are in charge of cleaning, opening and closing procedures and crowd control. Casting Male and Female hosts ages 16 and up.
Costume Characters: We are casting highly energetic people to represent LEGOLAND’s most popular characters. Representing a wide variety of LEGO mini-figures, we have everything from our park mascot Buddy to Darth Vader® himself! Casting males and females ranging in height of 5’2” – 5’6”. Casting ages 16 & up.
Gymnasts: If you are an experience gymnast, then audition to join our year round show, The Big Test! Qualified candidates will be able to perform a round off back tuck, round off back hand spring, dive roll, aerials and the ability to swing giants. Casting ages 18 & up.

Please prepare 16 - 20 bars of an up tempo Pop or Rock style Song (If you can belt, we would like to see that) and a 30 second comedic monologue that shows strong characterization. Sheet music is required and an accompanist is provided. Please bring your sheet music in a 2” binder, with pages assembled for minimum page turns, marked with the correct cuts in non glare plastic sheet covers. No A Cappella or taped accompaniment is allowed. Total audition time not to exceed 1 ½ minutes. You will be taught a combination. Please wear appropriate dance attire. Shoes are required at all times. Some willing applicants will be asked to dance as a costume character immediately following the dance audition. Please bring a current picture and resume. You will be escorted to the auditions from there.
PAY:
Kids, Actor/Actress, Singer and Dancer positions pay $14.00 per hour
Guest Experience Host positions pay $12.00 per hour
Costume Character roles pay $10.00 per hour
Costume Character Dancers (In Character Dance Party) roles pay $14.00 per hour (Must attend a dance audition to be considered for this role).
Gymnast positions pay $21.00 per hour

USE OF MINORS IN OUR SHOWS
All minors (under the age of 16) must have a parent or guardian present for all rehearsals and performances.
An on site studio teacher is present for all rehearsals and performances as well.
Parents will not be permitted in the audition room for the initial audition. All parents will be allowed in the room for the callbacks of minors under the age of 16.
Anyone under the age of 18 must possess an Entertainment Work Permit prior to the first rehearsal for their show.
In the event a minor under the age of 16 is required to miss a regularly scheduled school day for their performance, the parent will be responsible to provide 3 hours of school work for each day missed
(Because this is a summer schedule, rehearsals and performances should not interfere with regular school schedules)

LEGO® Friends LIVE:

•Olivia (Female to play 13 years old. Must harmonize well!): Cleaver, academic and a problem solver, but stubborn. Loves inventing things, building things and hanging out with her friends. (3)
•Emma (Female to play 13 years old. Must harmonize well!): Designer, stylist and creative but absent minded. Meet her in the beauty shop. Loves drawing, fashion and giving her friends make-over’s. (3)
•Andrea (Female to play 13 years old. Must harmonize well!): Musician, happy go-lucky and full of drama. Loves music, singing and dancing with friends. (3)
•Stephanie (Female to play 13 years old. Must harmonize well!): Party Planner, organized and energetic but a bit of a control freak. Loves planning things and her pets. (3)
•Mia (Female to play 13 years old. Must harmonize well!): Animal lover who’s practical and down to earth but always ready to work! Loves animals, being green and playing sports. (3)
Castle Show (Working Title):
•Princess Penelope (Female ages 16 and up) – The only sane person left in the castle. She is strong, well-minded, and independent. She does her best to take care of the kingdom and her bumbling uncle, the wizard. (2 – 3)
•Marlin The Wizard (Male ages 16 and up) – The former king’s crazy brother. He is absent-minded, bumbling and old. He promised his brother that he would look after the kingdom and the princess, but this proves to be too big a task for him to handle. Although he means well, he is just not quite all there. (2 – 3)
•Sir Valiant (Male ages 16 and up) – A vain knight in search of a kingdom to rule over. He is cocky, arrogant, and completely full of himself. He thinks he is the greatest knight in the entire world and everyone else is beneath him. He is incredibly mean and hurtful to his “loyal” follower, the squire. (2 – 3)
•The Squire (Male or Female ages 16 and up) – Coming from a long line of “common folk”, the squire wants nothing more than to be a heroic knight. Forced to serve under the ruling of the vain knight, Sir Valiant, this young squire takes punch after punch in fear of losing his/her job. He/She is brave, noble, chivalrous and simply waiting for the right moment to become the hero he/she was born to be. (2 – 3)
•Swing: (Male or Female ages 16 and up) – A versatile actor or actress to play multiple roles in the same show(s).
Character Dance Party:
•Singers (Male or Female with legit pop voice ages 16 and up): Representing the “face of LEGOLAND”. Female: Mezzo Soprano with a belt and a Pop Sound. Male: Tenor with a Pop Sound. (2 – 4)
