Fell’s Point Corner Theater (251 South Ann Street in Baltimore) announces auditions for 10 X 10, 2012, our evening of 10-minute original plays chosen from plays submitted by playwright’s across the US. Auditions will take place on Saturday, February 4 at noon; Monday, February 6 at 7 PM; and Wednesday February 8 at 7 PM. All roles are open and non-paid. We will need actors ranging in age from 16 and up. Our desire is to cast all actors in at least 2 roles each. Actors should prepare a 2-minute monologue, but there will also be cold readings from the scripts.
10 X 10 will open on Friday, April 13, and run for three consecutive weekends, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, and Sundays at 2 PM. There will also be two Thursday night performances, April 19 and 26 at 8 PM. An additional evening performance on Sunday, April 22, at 6 PM, is also scheduled for a student group with a talkback afterwards.
Rehearsals will begin the first week of March and will be held weeknights, Monday through Thursdays, Saturday days and Sunday evenings, depending on schedules. Actors are not expected to attend every rehearsal date, but should be flexible to accommodate the scheduling of 10 plays.
This is also a competition for the playwrights. Audience members will vote to determine the favorites.
