This special concert will entice your ears in dance, rich history and excitement. Ladino is the language of Spanish or Portuguese Jews dating as far back as 1492. This concert will feature the Kansas City Premier of composer Ofer Ben Amot's Songs from the Pomegranate Garden with soloist Cantor Tahl Ben-Yehuda. In addition to Songs from the Pomegranate Garden, the afternoon will feature two Ladino works as well as a festive favorite, Ocho Kandelikas. In addition, the concert includes Spanish composer De Falla’s Jota from his Dances from the Three-Cornered Hat, Marquez’s Danzon No. 2 from Mexco, Tico-Tico from the Brazilian tradition and Gershwin’s Cuban Overture.
